Lake Powell Pow-wow

BEWARE: PICTURE OVERLOAD

To kick-off my summer vacation my friend, Tyson, took me to Lake Powell with his family.  See, Tyson and I had made a deal at the end of last semester that if I took him snow catting with my family that he would take me to Lake Powell with his.  Both of us stuck to our side of the agreement and went on marvelous adventures!
I had never been to Lake Powell before this trip, so every little thing was a new marvel in my eyes.  Tyson would ask me what I wanted to do and every time I would answer with the same bewildered "I don't know".  The truth was I didn't know what one could do in Lake Powell so I was at the will of Tyson and his family- I was just fine with that too!

As soon as I got home from the trip I wrote it all down in my journal- taking up eighteen pages, and my journal isn't small.  So if you want an extremely detailed version of my trip you will have to come over and I will read it to you.
Is it weird that I like reading my journal to people?  And yes, I am the one who gets to read it, then I can edit it as I go!

If you can't tell from the pictures I had a MARVELOUS TIME!  In fact living on the boat for three days only strengthened the desire I have to live close to water!  . . . Maybe one day.

In no particular order these are a few of the things that we did:

  • Rainbow Bridge
  • Climb to the top of Hole in the Rock
  • Jumped into freezing cold water (I beat Tyson in a race)
  • Ate tons of great food
  • Got a tan
  • Made hemp Bracelets
  • Went fishing (caught one, line broke, fish got away)
  • Star Gazed
  • Played in the sand
  • Went hiking
  • Cut up my legs
  • Made new friends
  • Learned how to tie new knots
  • Laughed lots
  • Deep Conversations
  • Crazy hair and no make-up!
  • Indian Ruins
  • Long lovely boat rides
  • Breathtaking views
  • Crickets
  • LPRs
Thanks Tyson and Family!

Lake Powell Theme Song

Monday, May 16, 2011

Location: D4 Kitchen
Date: Sometime during finals week
Occupation Title: Professional Self-entertainers

I have been home for a little over a week.  My summer thus far has been busy, fun and full of catching up with the times.  It is weird being home, sometimes the moments are just like they were before I moved away, and then others I feel completely out of place and uncertain as to what my place is here.
I don't miss school, or the cool Logan climate what I miss the most are all the friends I had made over those eight months of living on my own.

I have a feeling there maybe a few more Logan trips than I had planned on over the summer months-  I should be used to that trip by now.

BIG NEWS:  Miss LuLu turned eight (8) today!  She is going to be baptized on Saturday!  I am so proud of her and I can't believe that she is that old already!!!  I am going with her and her mom to get her ears pierced this afternoon- she is so brave and so big!  Goodness gracious where has the time gone!

When Halee was born I was eleven years old- yet I still remember it like it wasn't that long ago.  I remember everything about the day-  What I was wearing, how slow Grandma drove Shay and I to the hospital, waiting in the hall until Jon said we could come in.  I remember holding her for the first time, and having an instant love for her.  I was in fifth grade when she was born, and my mama let me print off a picture to show everyone at school.  It seems so long ago when I think of all that has happened since then, but on that same note I still don't believe she is so old.

Read this. It will make your day!

Marvelous day at D4!

So, basically I LOVE stories!  I love listening to them, telling them, and the reactions that others get from them!

(clearing of throat)  Here is my story for today and IT JUST BARELY HAPPENED!

I hope you all find it as humorous as I do.

I am usually not home during this time of the day on Wednesdays.  I am usually at my Crossfit class, but today I didn't go.  I didn't have to- and why would I put my body through something like that when I didn't have to?
Instead I ate a lovely salad topped with a boiled egg, cranberries and cheese.  Just thinking about how marvelous that was in my mouth makes me smile while I am typing this story!  I have also been doing some intense "research" via Blogger.
All my roommates were either still at school or upstairs so I was all alone in the living room enjoying my "Me-time" when I heard the door knob start turning.  The thought went through my head that it shouldn't be doing that.  Everyone was either upstairs or at school who lived here, and the J3 boys aren't so quiet.  Before I realized it a man was in my doorway.  I have never before seen this man in my life, but from first glance he seemed nice and he was nice looking.  For a moment, yes just a moment, we "stared into each others eyes". . . okay, not really.  It was more like we looked at each other with very confused expressions, not really sure what is going one.  He stood there for about ten seconds.  I even think he said hello, then he started noticing his surroundings. . . I am sure the thought went through his head "Where did that Giraffe picture come from?" and then it donned on him.  The cute stranger started going red in the face and backed out of the door way before anymore could be said.

Now, even I have made the simple mistake of going into the wrong apartment.  It is easy to get confused when all the buildings look the same.  Lucky enough for me when I walked into the wrong apartment no one was there to catch me in my act.  Another thing, when I walked into the wrong apartment it was the beginning of Fall semester. . . we are now drawing near the finals week of Spring semester!  Poor kid.  His mind must have been on something else- I have my theories.

Theories:
  1. This unfortunate soul couldn't resist the smell of my perfume it lured him in like Pepe le Pew
  2. He was in a complete daze due to lack of sleep and stress of finals
  3. (complements of Randi) "Something unbeknown to him led him there.  Like he just had some magical connection to you apartment and he was subconsciously being led there without his consent but he just couldn't stop himself"
Yep I like Randi's the best!

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Now, because there is always a story within a story this is what took place while I was sharing my lovely adventure with Randi:

Tami was cleaning up the hair balls off the floor.  Hairballs are quite common in D4 especially since there are five girls who live here who have longish hair. . . it is just a fact of life.  Well, she conjured up quite the wad of hair and because I think hairballs are funny Tami came down and showed me.  At that moment I had the epiphany to take the ball of hair down to our lovely J3 brothers.  I thought it was a thoughtful idea since the semester is almost over and we will all be going our own ways this hairball was a way they could take a piece of us with them where ever they went.  Because we thought it to be so special the plan was to surprise them!
Tami and I ran down to their apartment set the hairball on the back of their couch and left hoping that when they saw this symbol of love they would be filled with much joy and cherish it forever.  We quickly retreated to our apartment.

Ten minutes later. . .
My doorknob started wiggling again.  This time more aggressive than before, but the hope for that poor young man danced across my mind, "He has returned!  Randi was right!"  I leaned over the chair to assist the one on the other side of the door- when my door flung open and two rowdy boys came bouncing into my apartment.  These boys were familiar- too familiar.  Tyson and Brian, two of the six J3 boys, ran into my kitchen before I even had time to think. . .  In Tyson's hand was a cool-whip container and a lighter.
"Oh NO!  Not incense" was the only thing I could think they would light in our apartment. . .yes they have done that before and it is terrible- the smell didn't leave for days.  I had to stop them!  Tyson was by the stove already lighting away before I had even got off the chair.  Brian was guarding the entrance to the kitchen.  There was no way for me to get in!  I called for help.  Tami and Jordan were upstairs doing homework- I NEEDED BACKUP!
Poor Brian, I punched him in the arm a few times to break down his barrier, but there was no hope.  By the time Tami and Jordan came down Tyson and Brian had started to head for the door, leaving behind the smoldering cool-whip container.  I ran in to put out the flame when the repulsive odor of a hair-perm and cow branding filled my nostrils!  IT WAS THE HAIR!
At this point I don't know which could be worse- the smell of incense or the smell of burt hair.  Currently  the kitchen window and the front door are both open hoping to circulate some fresh hair into our home.

I know. . . we asked for it-

Oh, by the way:  Happy Wednesday Everyone! (:

(perma smile!)

Once upon a time I met a guy.
His name is Eric.
He lives in J3
He has crazy curly hair.
And he always makes me happy.
He was my FHE Papa.
We are friends-
sometimes we are "secret-lovers"
 Eric isn't ticklish,
but other than that
we are a lot a like.
It is true.

On April first we got ENGAGED!
and then un-engaged!
IT WAS APRIL FOOLS- silly!
I made Eric play with me.
Actually- I didn't even ask if he wanted to play- oops!
He was also fooled.

I hacked onto his FB account. . .
well not really- he left it signed in on his computer- his fault!
I posted our Relationship Status on Facebook as "ENGAGED"
and within 2 MINUTES I got a phone call
from my mother-
I guess the EXTENDED family had already found the news.
They were expecting an explanation.
I laughed all the while Mom cussed me

She made me call my Grandma RueLeen before word got to her.
That would have been bad mojo!
I called her!  I love calling her
O and to make matters so much better,
Grandma LOVES April Fools!
She was the Foolin' Queen back-in-the-day!
And as expected she giggled all the while I told her of my foolin' ideas.
I will share some of her tricks from her day eventually!
She was a master!
Word gets around fast in my small town
especially due to Facebook.
I found this ring picture on Google,
posted it as my Facebook picture and got so many complements.

Dear lady of the ring: Everyone thinks it is "Gorgeous!"
O and that your man is a "keeper" according to the diamond size! (thumps up!)
P.S. Thanks for letting me use a picture of your hand and ring-
It greatly added to the whole effect of things!

To all of those who left me kind words of Congratulations
Thank You
I got a great kick out of each FB comment, text message and phone call!
To all that were so gullible to believe me
You made my entire day!

Merry Fooling Day of April! (:

beastly, I know.

It is a phone picture- give me a break. . .I know it sucks okay.
Last night I took on this beast.
Yes, it is a hairball- a huge hairball, mind you!
It took preparation spoon full of peanut butter
special equipment kitchen broom and vacuum from J3
lots of elbow grease and persistence.

It wasn't easy to take on this beast of a creature- I mean look at that thing! It is Ginormous!
I got a few battle wounds a paperish cut only by hair. . . a hair cut! (no pun intended).
What did I do with this wad of hair you may ask?
I took it over to J3- to show them my hairball-taming skill. . . They thought it was gross.
Big wimps!  IT IS JUST HAIR!

Equation:  5 Girls + Hair = HAIRBALLS!  everywhere . . . (dun, dun, dun!)

-"You can paint with all the colors of the. . . . chalk?

I went to Spanish Forks Color Festival.
It was so much fun!  I was so tired!
(the previous night I went to bed at 3:30 AM because a group of us dressed up like gothic/punk people and partied it up!)
The Color Festival is a religious celebrations- but that is all I know basically. . .
I haven't really cared to take the time to look up why we threw colors in the air, but I will now-
I know they burt a witch.

Only five of our crew made the trek down.
It was a bit chilly, but not too bad.
I got blue chalk in my eye- Thanks Eric.
We ended up looking like Easter Eggs.

I can't wait until next year!
I am going to do the mud slide! (:
Oh and I either want to dress up like a ninja or a birde!
Good plan huh!?

Notice the creeper in the left hand corner- totally creepin' But he makes this picture so much better I will admit!
I drove the rest of the way home after being caked in chalk dust.
I was starving and tired and so glad to finally get home to shower.
The rest of the weekend was amazing!

Fact: Three hours of sleep for two days full of excitement is not enough.
Fact: Color is a BIG deal in my life.
Fact: Driving while tired is not safe.  It is scary.
Fact: Wearing someone else contacts won't make you see better.
Fact: I miss my high school friends more than I thought possible.
Fact: Hoss is going to be an amazing missionary.
Fact: Grandma RuLeen is amazing.

Quote of the weekend: "Next time you won't catch me in my fan-duds." - Grandma RuLeen.

Sno-Cattin' Adventure (mind you no boy/husband talk included)

BEWARE: picture OVERLOAD! (yes, each picture deserves to be large and centered!)

Okay now for the story. . . not that each picture doesn't speak for itself.
. . . . .
Friday before Spring Break I loaded up my roommates, Aubrie and two of the J3 boys- Eric and Tyson. The Durango was packed, but we got off in really good time.  See we had to leave decently early because Shay's prom was that night, and yes we went to watch- (where I come from the whole community goes to WATCH prom, but that is another story)

Saturday we ventured up into the mountains.  My pa had agreed to take us all up on the Snow Cats.  Long story short it was a new experience for everyone!
Quick shout out to Pa, Weston and D!  Thanks for playing tour guide!

RECAP of the weekend:
(no particular order)
  • Eric went up in the mountains with a broken leg. . LOTS OF PAIN
  • Played in the snow all day long!
  • Rode Snow Cats
  • AMAZING food (thanks Ma!)
  • My friends got to see what it is like where I grew up
  • Everyone fell in love with my kids
  • Sleepovers on the floor
  • LOTS OF DRIVING!

I missed lots of important details - this is true. . .
But I would need a whole day just to relive those little moments.
Really- the weekend was just SIMPLY MARVELOUS!

Read Kellie's two-bits
of the glamorous weekend!

1:27 am

It is late.
Or early I guess.
I am tired.
I don't have sheets on my bed,
but hey- my bed is ridiculously comfortable anyway.
Jealous?
You should be.

Tonight as I was getting ready for bed I felt like I was missing something. . .
And then I remembered
I miss CHARLY, the book.
It is a sad story- this is true
but Eric has been reading a chapter to us
 from the book each night
for the past two weeks.

It all started when I wasn't going to bed in good time.
I would complain about being tired during the day. . .
SO
Eric said he was going to make me go to sleep
before wee-hours in the morning.
I told him I needed a bed time story
. . . the rest is history.

It usually ends up all four of us on one of our beds
while Eric gets into his "fatherly-story telling mode"
I love the way he talks in Charly's voice- bahaha!

(don't judge us, we are getting ready for bed!)

Oh and if you haven't noticed
Spring Break = Lots of blog posts!
I love being home! (:

dear husband. . . I did it again.

Kitchen failure #2

(in the last week. . . )

So yesterday we had an COOKIE PARTY!  it was more like a cookie open house.
I made my fabulous homemade oreos- (high-five to me) Yes, they are fabulous and for the record I have never ruined them. . . (knocking on my desk!. . .it is wood.)

I was on top of things- I successfully finished making my treats two hours before the party - look at me not procrastinating!  Then I started making a book with Eric and Jordan.

Tami and Tyson had been making applesauce cookies- for some reason they left and asked if I would put the last batch in.  Being the lovely roommate I am I did as they asked- put whatever was left of the dough onto the sheets and stuck the last batch into the oven.  Put the timer on for ten minutes and left.

(Ten minutes later. . . )
I took the beautiful applesauce cookies out of the oven.  SUCCESS!

BUT wait, there was something still in the oven. . . .
I opened the door wide and to my surprise another cookie sheet.
WAIT!  did you catch that?  I said, "ANOTHER COOKIE SHEET!"
In my mind I rethought things through. . . calculating my previous actions and I had only put one cookie sheet into the oven.
How could there be two?
Magic.
I have decided that our oven is possessed. . . it isn't my lack of skill in the kitchen.

um. . .
or it could have been that I was suppose to take cookies out of the oven before I put new ones in.
Note to self: next time I "throw" a cookie pan into the oven make sure the oven is empty of other cookie pans.

*my poor husband. . . . good thing he is going to love me!

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

you can call me. . . . Dr. Mason

My husband is going to have to like to play pretend.
I like to play pretend.
. . . . .
Yesterday I was a doctor
for this guy
His name is Eric.
He is a J3 boy.
He kind of screwed up his ankle. . .
or so we thought.
It looked bad.

I suggested Redmond clay
Yes, small town remedies
it works.
I found some from a few friends that I have up here.
(thanks Wendy and Kelby)
I made putty
and wrapped Eric's Leg in it.
My friends claimed that my hick-ness was showing through
and I guess in a way it was.

Today Eric went to the doctor
After much persuasion . . .
of course!

And this happened.
Yep it is broken.
It is gross.
I may or may not have pulled out some of Eric's
leg hair while he was sitting
helplessly elevating his leg last night.

Get well soon Eric! (:

Stay Tuned:  Eric will probably tell the whole GROSS story of the event on his blog . . . No promises, but I am sure he will find time to do it. . . just a thought.

sleep, The lack of.

Current Song playing on ipod: It's Raining Men
Current location: Living room
Current time: 2:55 AM February 20, 2011
Notice: my hair is crazy- as I get older and older it grows more curly. . . does this mean I am going more boy crazy?  or just crazy in general?  I like it though- it makes it easy and FAST to do . . . for the most part-  Thanks head for growing hair that is a little bit wild-  It makes my life interesting and gives me a chance to mix it up! (:

Good thing it is Sunday tomorrow- I can have a nap. . . (ya right!) .  I should be in bed, but I am not tired, not that I have tried to go to bed.  I bet if I laid down I would fall asleep- o well, sleeping is good but I will sleep when I get old!
It is freezing cold in our basement- It is snowing outside and I keep hearing the snow plows drive down the road.  I bet the plow-drivers are way tired and their wives are anxious for them to return so that they can sleep well again and not rustle around restless in their beds searching for the warmth of the man that lays beside them.
As soon as I fall asleep I know I am going to have to pee-  I am currently drinking a large glass of milk to wash down the Cadbery Mini Eggs that I have been snacking on all evening!  They are so amazingly good- definitely worth peeing my bed for. . . maybe not.  Gross- sorry for that image.  For the record I haven't peed my bed since I was eight years old.  I know, that is quite old to be peeing the bed I remember begging my mom not to tell anyone- especially my younger sister.
Wow, this post
is going in so many
different directions. . .
sorry about that!

This next week is going to be huge!  My friend Tyson is running for Programming VP up at the school! Dah!  nervous!  He asked me to be his campaign manager even though I have no idea what is going on! I feel like an underdog!  Maybe, just maybe we will pull through though- my fingers are crossed!  I have been designing some things and painting signs and talking strategy with Tyson.  I think he has a pretty sweet plan and it may just work!
If you are a student
enrolled at Utah State
Please vote for Tyson!
After all every vote counts
Getting all this stuff put together is reminding me of high school-
Painting all the homecoming signs, all the extracurricular activities I did, my perfectionism. . .
Yep, just like high school. . .
No sleep, lots of milk, and a messy room.

I am so glad it is a four day week next week!
Funny side note! I am going to have a longer weekend than week!
I didn't have class on Friday and there is no class Monday due to President's Day . . .
FIVE DAY WEEKEND!

Oh- by the way I would like to announce that most of my roommates (minus one) have now joined the blogging world!
I pretty much think they are amazing and I am sure you will all love them too!
Check 'em out:
  • Kellie (look our names are almost exactly alike. . except for one letter)
  • Tami (She is my room-roommate)
  • Jordan (The smart one- 'nough said.)
We have decided that we are kindred spirits. . . It is pretty legit- just sayin'

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ONE MORE THING!
If you think my blog is even a lil' bit awesome- or at least fun to read some times (especially how I miss spell and miss use lots of words) then I think you should FOLLOW it!  I know it is a HUGE commitment and everything, but it makes me feel good!  O and if you want to share my thoughts with anyone else feel free to.

Okay- I am done now, sleep is in order. . .

Spring Fever?

Sunday afternoon it was 54 degrees
Yes, it was a whoppin' 54 degrees in February
IN LOGAN none the less.
It felt like summer.

I pulled out my cut-off shorts
threw on a t-shirt
and the J3 boys joined us for a picnic on the lawn!
SPLENDID!
(I was sick with Spring Fever!)

Not even a week later we have snow
not just a skiff either
I am talking SIX INCHES (at least)

The warmth was good while it lasted.
my tulips keep me happy.

Jordan + cooking = lots of food = happy Kelsie

Next week is going to be crazy
I hope it goes by fast
I am going home next weekend!
I need to go support my LADY WOLVES
particularly my SHAY!

Besides I am her TRUE #1 fan!

Fridays.

It is simple I love Fridays.
I wish today was Friday, and tomorrow and so on and so forth. . .
I only have one class on Fridays and then I go to Religion and Life which makes my day even that much betters.
Fridays are the beginning of the weekend.
It is the first of a multi day adventure.
Fridays mean no school the next day.

Fridays = Happiness.
the end.

No offense to today (Sunday)  I love you too- I mean I always gain a lot from my sabath.
For instance today I:

  • 90% of LDS boys know how and enjoy cooking (I like this statistic)
  • I need to prepare to ask THE HARD QUESTIONS.
  • Jordan makes a mean Manicotti.
  • Dressy candle light dinners are always fun with friends.
  • There is a certain "look" that girls give guys when they want to be kissed. . . I did not know this.
I am now going to start making banana bread, even if it is almost ten.
Better late than never!

I'm alive. . . kicking too.

Hey look I changed up my blog for a crisp, new, clean, simple look.  What do you think.  I like it.  I think it is just simply splendid.
I go through bogging phases and well a lot of time has passed since I paid much attention to this blog so I figured I better give you all something to look at- including myself.

20 Things that I love about today:
  1. My roommates.
  2. The aching in my butt from Crossfit.
  3. Not having homework due tomorrow.
  4. Taco Tuesdays at IWA.
  5. Being on campus all day long.
  6. Getting free food at the Blood Drive (even though I couldn't donate they still gave me food).
  7. Adobe Illustrator
  8. Birthday Parties.
  9. Talking to old friends on campus.
  10. Long talks with Mom on the phone.
  11. Finding out Shay won her basketball game.
  12. Brushing my teeth.
  13. Hiding in a small bathroom, anticipating a surprise and having to go pee!
  14. The J3 boys.
  15. Coloring pictures on my phone and sending them to people.
  16. Writing in my journal.
  17. Watching the bus get stuck on the hill because of the snow (it made me laugh all day long, even if it did cause me to be late for class).
  18. Interviewing for a job I didn't want. (I am not being sarcastic, I like to be interviewed about myself!)
  19. "Good Morning" text messages - They just make my day!
  20. Having a class with my cousin Shalysse.                                                                                              (I know I added #21. because today was worth it)
  21. Not doing any of my homework. . .  yes this makes me happy for today.

Other fun facts about today:
  • I got a few emails from people complimenting me on my photography and asking me to take their pictures!!! Super excited (By the way I am going to start the process of switching my major this week.  I am going to start with photography and then possibly do a double major.)
  • D4 is currently beating the J3 boys at war-  D4 has three points and J3 only has one.
  • I get to see my mommy and my sister come Saturday afternoon and I am extremely excited!

Guess what world.  Kels is back!  I lost myself last semester.  I honestly think I went into a state of depression-  I did the whole college thing backwards. . .you know where the student gets homesick at the beginning of the semester and gradually grows away as the year goes on- well I did that entirely opposite.  I covered everything-  All my time was consumed to mask the pain of being alone in this big world. (I come from a small town. I am/was naive and jumping head first into a situation like this caused me shock.)  So when I started to gather up all my pieces at the end of last semester and tried to put them together they wouldn't fit.  I felt like things were going all wrong and all I wanted to do was run away and get back to my comfort zone.  I couldn't though- it was gone.  I felt more lost and alone than I have ever felt.  That is when I decided things needed to be done and I needed to take action to get my life back on track.
I believe that the hardest things we go through cause us to grow the most.  I believe that we are given trials to sculpt us into the servants that the Lord needs in his army.  I believe that we are challenged to prove ourselves and our endurance.  I also believe that "there is now growth in the comfort zone and there is no comfort in the growth zone." - Carol Lee J.  The end of last semester was rough-  I don't know how else to phrase it.  I tried blaming it on the weather, you know the whole "winter-blues" type of thing, but that most defiantly wasn't the case.  I had to find myself- I was lost.  It hurt, at times it felt like my heart was being ripped from my chest, jumped on by an obese kid with a pogo stick, and then field goal kicked right back into my rib cage.  Agony.  But most defiantly worth it.
I didn't realize how bad I was until days like this when I look back and think about how miserable I was.  I think about what I went through and the things I did to please other people.  It was stupid of me.  (Shout out to Katie Cowan for telling me that pleasing people is basically stupid - not directly quoted.)  I was talking to my mama on the phone today and something she said to me hit me kind of hard.  She said, "Kels I am glad you are happy again.  It has been a long time since I have heard you be this happy.  Welcome back."  I am back.  I am alive and watch out because I am kicking.  I have a lot of life to catch up on.

The end.

(Is it weird that every post I make I type it out, publish it, preview it, fix it, add a few more two-bits, preview it, fix it, publish it again, then my mom will read it and tell me something I need to fix, so I do, then I publish it again. . . and so on and so forth. . . )

I am falling in love with turtle necks.
Maybe it is the warmth from the Logan coldness.
Perhaps the modesty.
Do I need a legitimate reason?
I think not.
I think I hit the wall and now I am rebounding off-
I should be to bed.
It is 2 in the morning, and I have a ridiculously long, but fun day tomorrow!
I may feel a tad-bit crazy!

not what it looks like. . .

. . . . okay so maybe it is what it looks like.
SUNDAY (after ward prayer):
This is my FHE (Family Home Evening) Pa, his name is Eric and he is painting my toe nails it is true.
He had never painted toe nails before so I asked him if he would do mine.
He did a great job! ha!  My toe nails are currently brown with red blotches on them (they are suppose to be dots!)
When he was finished with me it was my turn to do him.
NO I DID NOT PAINT HIS TOE NAILS! (I wanted to but he wouldn't let me. . . )
Instead I taught him, my FHE brother Joe P. and my roommates how to take care of their nails-
Ever since I was little my mom would sit each of us kids down and push back our cuticles and cut our nails and so that is what I did to them.
The boys were a bit hesitant - they claimed that no one even looks at their nails, I did it anyway.  They were surprised how great they looked.

MONDAY (after family night):
Eric and Joe both came up to me and said it was hard for them to focus because their nails were so shiny, the have never had shiny nails before "and they are so soft".  (they both told me this while looking at their nails)

TUESDAY (after waking up):
I got a text message from Joe P. that reads:
"I was helping a girl with her math yesterday when she noticed my hands and commented about how my fingernails were in perfect condition.  Perfectly round and shiny.  She finished with "You have nice hands."  Haha, if only she knew. ;)"
Oh Joe!  That made my day!

Lesson Learned:
Take care of yourself, people notice. . . besides our bodies were given to us, we should take good care of them!

If you can't really tell what this video is I will explain:
This video is of Eric (my FHE father) and I playing with fire.  Now I know that this sounds stupid, and someone could get hurt, but it is a grand old time!  I had a can of aerosol hairspray in the Durango and being the PYRO self I am I decided to play with it for a bit.  After torching it around we decided to spray our hands and light them on fire.  It was fun- I didn't get burning (: but Eric kind of smelt like burt hair. .
A few things I have decided this weekend:

  • NEVER play ROOTbeer pong again! (unless I practice and become flawless at winning)
  • Tyson only makes a mean man meal- (Man meals consist of lots of meat and LOTS of heat!)
  • I am starting to LOVE racquetball, I even won a game today
  • Homework is the pits
  • Naps are simply marvelous!  (I actually already knew this, but I wanted to emphasize how great they are!)
  • I love chex mix- but it doesn't mix well with the upset stomach from ROOTbeer pong- (that is why I am up so late. . . my stomach is churning!)
  • It is a great thing to have hairspray in your car, it comes in handy, not only to fix my hair, but to be used to play PYRO games!
  • Accept my feelings!
  • Despite the fact that today was a splendid, warm November day- my bedroom is ridiculously cold!
