Pencil hair.

this picture is a disclaimer: my hand is really not that big. . .

Tonight I put my hair up with pencils-
it is a sign. . . I need to become a teacher.

Ok, maybe not. . .

I will be honest,
only reason I put my hair up with pencils is because
I didn't want to go upstairs to get an elastic. . .

But this pencil hair of mine did make it through the hair-shake test!

Hair-shake test: agressive shaking of ones head to test the stability of one's stylish hair.

It probably would have been nice to have taken a picture of the back of my head. . .
You know so you can see how I work my magic,
but I don't even want to look back there.

It isn't falling out- and that is all that matters.

Oh the Library.

Location: USU Library fourth floor
Date: Thursday 12, First week of Spring Semester 2012
Position: Against the wall, on the floor next to the heater. . . This is Logan my friends- it is a mild winter up here in the North, but it is still ridiculously frigid - I will do anything for some warmth.

Let me break this week down for you:
I have read over 300 pages in two days. Let me rephrase that, I have read 300 textbook pages in the past two days. I love reading, but textbooks about writing about math- not really on my list of books to read. I have however fallen in love with my book on religious studies.

Did you know that in Buddhism
 emptiness is a good thing?
While reading this I realized that I was the only one around. . .
. . . in the library?
I guess emptiness can be a good thing.

"Well class here is your syllabus - please read it after class. We don't have time to waste, lets get started."

Whatever happened to easing into a class?

My name is Kelsie and I have once again joined the nerdy ranks of being a overly organized college student. In grade school I was known as the teacher's pet, high school I wasn't quite as bad. . . okay lets face it I worked hard to earn that title.

But when I walked through those college doors my freshman year the desire to be the best was set up on a shelf. Socializing, boys and staying up until 3:00 in the morning just because I could became my life. And it was fabulous. . .but it just isn't cutting it anymore.

I am a sophomore now. . . so much older and wiser - duh! and because I am so superior I have put my priorities in order. School. That is my major priority believe it or not. And I love it. There is such a relief in staying caught up in classes and besides that I feel smart again!

I could get used to this school thing for a while.

I have said it before, but there is just something magical about today, about this week, this month, this semester . . this year- great things are going to take place and I can just feel it. I can feel it flowing through me like blood in my veins.

Small announcement: I am submitting mission papers this June.
I have never felt better in my life.

2012 is Magic, that what it is.

My posts have not been up-to-snuff lately. I feel like I am lacking. . . And it isn't the lack of ideas or inspiration, but rather the lack of time or energy to put forth sharing the stories that are spinning circles inside my head. For myself and for anyone else who feels like my words have been somewhat dry I am sorry and I will try harder.
Thank you.

Fall Break (at least that is what I was told. . .)

It is Friday.
Fall break actually. But it doesn't feel like it.
I have been working on homework all day long-

Halee came over, so I took a break. It was wonderful!
I love being home with my family, even if I do have to spend most of the day doing homework.

My blog is puking words. sorry.

Blog world: I am still alive and still dedicated to posting.
I have just been really busy.
This is a poor excuse and there isn't much to say
about this post either, but here it is.
. . . . . .
I am just throwing-up words
Yes, these are my feet.
No, they are usually not this veiny.
This is what happens to me after I run.
Veinyfootitise.
Don't worry it isn't contagious.
. . . and yes, I am fully aware that my feet are dirty- I don't wear shoes a lot of the time, it happens.

For all those who don't know.
I am running a half marathon Nov. 5 in Moab.

I have been craving a good blog session for nearly a week now.
It is ironic really, I want to write to escape writing. . .

"Life is what you make of it.
Always has been, always will be."
Eleanor Roosevelt.

I am blessed.
My heart is filled with humility and joy.
I think the organ that pumps blood through my body has grown three sizes in the past two weeks.
It is swollen with love.

"I want to change the world"
This has been said before.
But I want to join the crowd and change things for the better.
I want to make an impact- I want others to feel the things I feel.
I have a plan too.

Soon I will write about something romantic, hilarious and glorious- O the stories I am waiting to share!

. . . addiction?

I have an addiction.  Well two addictions actually. . .
It is called Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator - It is going to be the end of me.

I took my first BIG math test today. . . and I learned that:

K+J(m) = K(m) < 3(100)

Translation (in English):  Kelsie + Jordan (math) = Kelsie is going to get a good grade in math and she loves her roommate Jordan who is a math goddess!

Tomorrow I have another test only this one is for Biology- I should get back to studying.  I have finally over come the "freshman" stage of college, meaning I have buckled down on my studies!  (high five me!)

I am thinking of getting involved with student government at the university.  I have been playing "campaign manager" for my friend Tyson who is running for Programmer next week!  To be honest I really like doing this kind of thing-  hm. . . I need a five, ten, fifteen, ect. year plan.  I need goals that will push my limits and demand my best.

Maybe I will major in psychology?

A year ago I was spending countless hours at the school.  I school would start at eight and often times I didn't get home until midnight because I was putting together my Sterling Scholar Portfolio.  At the time I remember feeling anxious, nervous, irritable, confused, unprepared and sort of like I was wasting my time.  I wasn't completely sold on why I was making this portfolio- I had put it in my mind that I wasn't going to win- but my goal was to get acknowledged as a runner up.
My Sterling Scholar became my everyday activity - especially through the months of January and February.  I would make a page- get it edited for design.  Write on the page- get it edited for grammar.  (this process was on going)  Then when I had all my pages finished I asked so many people to look through it and give me their two-bits.  EDITING WAS CRAZY!  Then I practiced interviewing (I love interviewing- is that weird?) Questions were asked all through my classes, I practiced with my fellow sterling scholar runners and then we even set up mock interviews.  To this day I am still indebted to all those who took time to help me.
All this work paid off.  The day of the portfolio review was intense- I made myself sick and even though I felt really good about how my review went I was still ridiculously nervous.  All the applicants I was going against were so talented, dedicated and through my eyes so deserving of the award.

I still can't believe I won. . .
I worked long and hard on these pages and even today I look at it and feel pleased with the outcome.

I was also working on this:

I was compiling some histories of my high school.  I will one day finish this huge project!  I really like how far I got though.

I get distracted so easily. . .
back to homework-

nice to meet you.

A blur.  A dream.  A wish.  A memory.
Life changes so fast-  Life IS fast.
I often hear how people wish they could go back in time and relive parts of their lives.  People often long for the times that they could go back to the "easier" days when things were less stressful and crazy.
My question to them is why?
Life is worth living NOW whether it is stressful or not- crazy or dull.
Life is what you make of it and well I must say today I feel very full of life.

Today is January fifteenth.  Gosh where has my week gone?  Yesterday was my nieces birthday and by the time I realized the date it was too late to call. (Happy Birthday my sweet Niah!)  I put off homework until I am left with oodles and oodles for Monday (nice work Kels).  Last but not least I got a phone call from Lulu who wants to know when she can come sleep at my house.  Hello January sixteenth- glad you could stop by.  Too bad I will only know you for a short while before you have left me like all those other days gone by.

I like the don't love cleaning it is a fact.  It isn't necessarily cleaning that I dislike so much it is not knowing where to start.  Then there are those days that everyone falls into every now and again.  Those days of complete craziness where all you do is clean.  I feel productive, but with that same token my list of things to do has only grown.  Luckily it is Sunday- I can put off the list for one more day.

I bought a green rocker today at the D.I. for our apartment and well I am absolutely in love - pictures to come.

My apologize for the randomness of this post- but to be quite honest. . . I really don't care how random it is (: enjoy.

laundry. homework. music.

Extra long weekend! yeah!! just what I needed!

Saturday is a glorious day:

Lexi's baptism was a perfect way to kick it off too!  I was able to support her on this marvelous choice and I spent time with my family!  Well some of my family!
I wish I could remember my baptism better.
I love my grandma RueLeen so very much!
I want to be just like her when I grow up!

Did laundry - I LOVE CLEAN CLOTHES (pet peeve)
While I waited for my laundry to wash I did some of my homework- I know I am such a multitasker!
I only got finished with my math. . .
I still have economics, english, and connections homework. . .
good thing I have tomorrow-

Went to the store and bought milk- mmmm that sounds really good right now (it's fast Sunday and I am hungry!)  Oh!  I also bought eggs!
Today I think I will make homemade oreos!
Yes, they sound delicious- everything sounds delicious though.
I should stop talking about food-
I need to focus on my fast.

Played soccer with Aubrie, Sam, Parker, and Brittany for a total of fifteen minutes!
We had planned on going earlier-
but we didn't. . . I honestly don't know why either.
It was fun though- I love being outside!

Went to free concert put on  by USU of Red Jumpsuit Apparatus- It was loud and crowded ha!  And they didn't play my favorite song that they sing. . . If they did I left early.
Confession: I don't love concerts.
Well at least I haven't loved the two I have been to.
I loved watching the people in the crowd more than the musicians on stage.
I was reminded last night that my point and shoot sucks-
I want a nice camera. . . so badly!

Cooked cardboard pizza it was delicious!
Sam and I went to walmart and bought a cardboard pizza for dinner.
I was starving!
We also bought some good old Ben&Jerry's!
but by the time we had eaten I had to get home and get ready for the sabbath.

Saturday was a splendid day!
Despite the fact that I went to bed at four the previous night-
I did really good to stay awake through all my adventures of the day. . .
I did start draggin' towards the end though!
I think I have a cold. . .
Thank goodness for Day/Nyquill!

p.s. happy fasting

I'm suppose to be doing my homework. . .
I know it is still summer, who does homework?
I do. . .
Well at least I'm supposed to-

Today I finished a MARVELOUS book! It is called The Traveler's Gift, and if you haven't read it I highly recommend it.  This book has definitely gone down in my top ten list!
I have read two books this whole summer. . .
Not great, but not too bad either I guess.
What should I read next?  any ideas?

I worked more hours this paycheck then I have ever worked in all my hours at the pool!  Oh how I'm looking forward to payday! (:

I have realized this a lot lately, but I have the greatest friends- Friends who care about me, take care about me, wonder how I'm doing, how I'm feeling.  I have friends that bring me yummy treats at work, and that give me hugs, friends who just want to talk- just to talk!

I'm a hopeless romantic-  'nuff said.

I have blisters on the backs of both of my ankles I guess you would say. . . from running in Shay's shoes.  And then I got a ginormous one on the bottom of my right foot from running in my old volleyball shoes. . .
 O I have started running.
I run about five miles or until everything feels better.
Is it bad to literally run away from my problems?
I do enjoy it though. . . Never thought I would say that in all my life.

Shane comes home Wednesday!!!

I move in a week and three days!

I should find out who my roommates are next week!
drum roll please. . .
I'm praying for good ones!
cross your fingers for me!

I only have four more days of work-
I already crave the smell of chlorine.
I hate when the pool closes.

I love teaching swim lessons!  It use to scare me and make me really nervous, but I really do enjoy it!  I especially love when I get little gifts from my students, or when I am just working, or walking around town and I get a "HELLO TEACHER!"  "hey mom that's my teacher!"- I really do love that!

Guess I should try to do my homework again!
The word "homework" makes my heart sink.
Summers are too short.

One more side note. . . Is it weird to anyone else that there are only four more months left in 2010?
